Maxar is excited to announce the formation of the Maxar Better World Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to support organizations that improve the lives of individuals, embrace their diversity and provide them with tools and opportunities to thrive. It is especially focused on:
- Advancing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education for underserved and diverse populations
- Helping veterans and active-duty military and their families
- Supporting global natural disaster preparedness and relief
The Foundation is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. Additionally, the Board appointed a nongoverning Advisory Committee composed of 12 Maxar employees to provide guidance and perspective regarding the Foundation and its activities. These 12 individuals were selected for their interest, acumen and insight in corporate social responsibility, and to reflect our company’s diversity, including geography, function, job level, tenure, race, age and gender.

“Maxar takes its corporate social responsibilities seriously and has a long history of supporting and giving to nonprofit organizations. Establishing the Maxar Better World Foundation was a natural next step for the company,” said Laurie Korneffel, Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Maxar and Foundation President and Board Member. “We are excited to continue building upon Maxar’s legacy of giving and growing our impact For A Better World.”
Maxar and the Maxar Better World Foundation look forward to strengthening the support we offer to improving lives within the communities where we operate and around the world. The Maxar Better World Foundation is expected to become operational in mid-2021.
