GAITHERSBURG, MD - (December 11, 2018) Rains are expected to increase across central Argentina again today through late week, and rain amounts will likely be quite heavy across much of Santa Fe and Entre Rios. “Rain amounts of 4-6” (100-150 mm) or more are expected across these areas through Friday, which will increase wetness and localized flooding concerns,” said Don Keeney, Senior Agricultural Meteorologist for Radiant Solutions. “The rains will result in higher disease pressure for corn and soybeans and will also stall remaining wheat harvesting.” These same areas saw very heavy rains in mid-November, so soil moisture supplies are already running high. Meanwhile, some dryness has developed recently in central Buenos Aires, and the rains there this week should improve conditions and prevent significant stress.
